- Building Division inspects and approves the meter panel; permits and final inspections must be completed before REU establishes service and sets the meter.
- Panel change-out on an existing home: complete forms including the Electric Load Information form, call a Distribution Planner, get a Building Division permit, call REU to disconnect, replace panel, pass Building inspection, call REU to reconnect.

A separate meter for the ADU
City of Redding ADU Information Packet: an electric meter is required for a new detached or attached ADU, otherwise optional; coordination with REU is required and the Electric Service Application ADU form must be submitted for new attached/detached ADUs (optional for conversions). REU's ADU form states REU determines service and conduit sizes and that service panel locations are subject to REU approval; some existing panels may need relocation.
