What happens after I order?

Once you've checked out, our engineering team gets to work preparing coordinated, permit-ready MEP drawings for your ADU. You'll receive your finished plans as a PDF by email, with two revisions and city corrections included — here's the full sequence so you know exactly what to expect.

Step by step after checkout

  1. We confirm we have what we need. Your turnaround clock starts once we have your complete architectural plans (floor plan, site plan, elevations) and project details. If anything is missing, we'll reach out so production isn't held up unexpectedly.
  2. Our engineers prepare your plans. We design your mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and coordinate them against your architectural drawings — load and heat load calculations, equipment schedules, panel schedules, ductwork, plumbing routing, and all required California code notations. If you added Title 24, it's coordinated with the plans from the start.
  3. We deliver your PDF. Your permit-ready plan set arrives by email within your chosen turnaround — Standard 5 business days, Priority 3, or Express 1–2 — measured from when we had complete information.
  4. You submit to your building department. File the PDF with your permit application.
  5. We handle revisions and corrections. Two revisions are included, and if plan check returns MEP corrections, we revise and resubmit at no charge until the permit is issued.

What you can do while we work

Once your order is in production there's nothing you need to actively manage, but a little preparation makes the rest of permitting smoother:

  • Confirm your other permit documents are progressing — architectural, structural, and the rest of your application package — so everything can be submitted together.
  • Start any utility coordination early if your project involves a panel upgrade or new service or water/sewer connection, since utility timelines run separately from plan preparation.
  • Keep an eye on the inbox you used at checkout in case we need a clarification on scope.

What's included
