What files do I need to upload for residential MEP plans?

To produce your residential MEP plans, we mainly need your architectural drawings and a few project details. The more complete and final your files are, the faster we can start coordinating your mechanical, electrical, and plumbing layouts and the fewer clarification rounds you'll experience.

Essential Files

These are the documents we rely on most to lay out and coordinate the systems accurately.

• Architectural floor plans — preferably to scale, showing room layouts, dimensions, and fixture locations.
• Site plan — helpful for utility connections, equipment placement, and setbacks.
• Elevations or sections — when available, they help confirm ceiling heights and routing space.
• Existing plans — for additions or remodels, drawings of the existing structure where new systems connect.

Helpful Details to Include

A short project summary alongside your drawings helps us scope the work correctly the first time.

• Conditioned square footage, plus bedroom and bathroom counts.
• Which disciplines you need — single, two, or full MEP.
• Any add-ons such as gas piping, EV charger circuit, or solar/ESS readiness.
• Your project city or county and the target permit type.
• Any preferred equipment, fixtures, or known utility connection points.

Preferred Formats

PDF is the most common and reliable format, and CAD files (such as DWG) are welcome when you have them. Clear, legible drawings reduce back-and-forth and help us deliver within the standard 5 business-day turnaround. If your plans are still evolving, sending the latest version and noting what may change still lets us begin productively.
